The Catholic vote was democrat before Hispanics showed up, and will remain democrat, although most of the diminishing number of whites who remain catholic, are becoming moderate republicans.
The majority of the vote of the members of the Catholic denomination, will continue to vote democrat, it is a democrat voting denomination.
By the way, you are totally wrong about the house.
Ronald Reagan (twice) and Bush the Elder both received a majority of the Catholic vote. So did Nixon (once). Over the course of the past three quarters of a century, the trend among Catholics has been away from the Democrats and towards the Republicans. But the overall numbers are close. Except that, as noted previously, church-going Catholics are a strong voting bloc for Republicans.
“More House Republicans in the new, 114th Congress identify as Catholic than in any other recent Congress, and they now outnumber Catholic Democrats in the House, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis.”

You are correct, I was looking at their graph and this “the share of GOP members who identify as Catholic also has grown from the 111th Congress (21%) to the 114th (28%). Meanwhile, the percentage of Catholics among House Democrats has dropped slightly, from 38% to 36%, over that same time period.”
Either way, it isn’t a very meaningful statistic, at least to conservatives.
Depending on the polling data used, it is thought that the Catholic vote has gone republican between 4 and 5 times, in history, and all of those were for incumbents, except for Reagan in 1980, and HW bush as Reagan’s 3rd term, (polling also disagrees about who Catholics actually voted for in that election).
The Protestant vote has only gone democrat 3 times, 1932, 1936, and 1964.
The Catholic vote isn’t going anywhere.
The Moreno Latinos in my family think he’s great and are all supporting him. Here that? They are not white and they are supporting Ted Cruz! Neener-neener lefty bi-atches...
Sounds like Rubio is our man, or Jeb,
How transparent!
