Peter Schiff's father, Irwin Schiff, stated that one of the reason economics is called a dismal science is that it defies the human itch to meddle in things. As Irwin Schiff said, imagine your a doctor and economics is a sick patient in a slump. The proper advice one would give to this... patient is I have no power to heal you. You have the natural capabilities to heal on your own without my help. If I try to heal you I will only make you sicker as I interfere with your natural corrective abilities to make yourself better. The only 20th century President I know of who understood this basic fact was Ronald Reagan. Pres. Hoover certainly did not when his meddling turned the 1929 stock market crash into the Great Depression.
