Conservative talk radio is dominated by several big names, but others in smaller markets have many fans, too. National or not, which conservative talk radio shows do you like the best? Which ones the least?
How would you improve, if you could, the shows you listen to?
Kudos, high fives, gripes, pet peeves--praise or vent, what are your thoughts about conservative talk radio?
Rush is the gold standard. But if you get Sirius, Andrew Wilkow on Patriot is good when Rush is on vacation. Levin is also the best in time.
Leland Live out of Birmingham. Give it a listen @ http://www.101wyde.com/pages/16378206.php
He is on 3-6 pm Central
Today’s show was about a tree falling in the forest across from Lawson College, where some speech was going on. The tree caused 17 trillion in damage. The callers were hysterical. One caller thought it may have been an im-peach tree. Hollow on the inside and did not have any nuts.
Leland had been off the air for about a year and I missed his cutting straight shooting analysis of politics. His side kick was an Obama supporter in the beginning. Now he has seen the light.
Reading these posts is making me nostalgic for George Putnam. Descended from General Israel Putnam of Bunker Hill fame he had a long career in broadcasting, proclaiming his political status as a Jeffersonian Democrat, always followed by the declaration the he had not left the party, rather, the party had left him.
He valued the United States as a nursery of freedom and a nation of laws. He was the first broadcaster I ever heard who decried the cheapening of American citizenship due to open borders.
Though well into his eighties he still kept his finger on the pulse of his country, frequently speaking on air with Matt Drudge and with Ann Coulter who he inevitably described as blessed with brains and beauty. I miss hearing their conversations, George introducing a subject with intelligence and insight then turning Ann loose to skewer the hollow sophists of the day with penetrating wit and dripping sarcasm. Their conversations were engaging and entertaining, unlike the shoutfests on cable TV.
God bless George Putnam, he set a standard that few can match.
1. Mark Levin
2. Mark Steyn
3. Mark Belling
All because of first name.
Very frequently while defending individual rights not enumerated in the constitution.
I don't know why, but he is a Jew (and by his own admission non-observant, and I assume he does not know the admonitions of the New Testament against homosex which are stronger and more adamant than those in the Old Testament.
I hear this a LOT from Levin.
Makes me wonder if you have a serious hearing disability or do no actually pay attenrion ro his words, frankly.
Rush Limbaugh as long as he stays on subject. I read his site mainly because he meanders alot.
Sean Hannity can be good but he talks in a loud voice and drones on. I have actually fallen asleep listening to him. He needs to learn to modulate his voice, you know, talk normal.
Mark Levin as long as he does not shout. He sounds like a nut when he does this.
Ben Shapiro sounds normal, talks in a normal voice, states facts and can take apart the politicians with out any antics but he and the audience have to put up with very liberal Brian Whitman who always interrupts and talks nonsense on their show with Elisha Krauss on KRLA.
Jim Quinn
Jim Quinn
Jim Quinn
Mark Levin
I listen to Rush but lately he seems to pound a topic to death, saying the same thing 35 different ways for 3 hours. Moments of brilliance separated by hours of boring repetition. Quinn is pure brain candy. So glad he’s returning April 1.
2. Mark Levin - Great Constitutional Intellect and takes no nonsense from the morons on the left! I love that about Mark!
3. Shaun Hannity - Good Guy, but is too nice to the left. A bit squishy.
4. Glenn Beck - Don't listen to him much anymore after the Ranch thing and giving comfort to the Illegal's coming across our border. But he should be given a LOT of credit for education people on the evils of George Soros and for dissecting the web of leftist organizations to the general public (taught me a lot) and people like Sun Castine and Samantha Powers etc.
Levin. Period.
Rush
And posthumously, Bob Grant
Red Eye,,,,yup!
They dissect arguments very well.
Levin,
Rush,
Savage.
how can there be no mention of Dana Loesch? She’s right up there.
I don't glue myself to the radio every night. I like Mark very much, but I just don't have the time. I was asking you a honest question, for information.
So you can take your rudeness and shove it.
I look at it this way,
Beck = kindergarten
Hannity = elementary school
Rush = college
Levin = doctorate
as far as a local shows goes, here in Cincinnati I think 55WKRC Morning Show host Brian Thomas does a FANTASTIC job and wish he could get a little more exposure on a bigger stage.
Ben Shapiro
Mark Levin
Kevin Jackson
Dennis Miller
“George Putnam”
I second your choice. George was a friend of Ronald Reagan and had some great stories of old Hollywood. Plus he broadcast on the family owned KIEV and he could do exactly what he wanted.
And don’t forget the great Terry Anderson who got his start by calling in to George’s show.
1. Rush
2. Levin
3. Howie Carr
4. Red Eye Radio
I listen to them in this order: 1, 3, 2, 4
Rush, Levin, Jim Vicevich, local conservative.
Joe Pags (Pagliarullo?) is based at WOAI in San Antonio. He drives me nuts with his machine gun delivery. He also does commercials all day. I turn him off at every opportunity.
