Ithaca College Student Government Association is creating an online system which it claims will give students the ability to report microaggressions. It believes the action will make Ithaca College a safer, more inclusive and diverse community for all students.
The system will be online and will fill the needs of students, the Student Government Association believes. It will also be anonymous.
However, Kyle James, vice president of communications and co-sponsor of the bill, states that if a student who has been subject to microaggression wants to sue the aggressor, theyll have to reveal their identity.
The system will also track who is reporting the microaggression and how they believe they were insulted.
Junior Elijah Breton, senator for the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, supports the bill, saying, Just like any other resolution that we want to pass with microaggression and diversity in the institution, what it does is it helps to make people think a little more before they do or say something.
Sophomore Joshua Kelly, senator-at-large, was the only vote in the Student Government against the bill. He said he was dismayed at talk of suing people over microaggressions.

What could possibly go wrong?
What a bunch of babies.
It reminds me of the 80s when I went to work at a very liberal organization and all the black “elite” college interns saw “racism” under every rock. One reported a secretary who walked ahead of a black businessman who was being led into a meeting.
These kids don’t know what’ll hit them when they get to work.
Isn’t it a bit micro-passive/aggressive to report rather than confront microagression?

A microaggression is an insult?
Many people are insulted or think they have been much easier than others.
Anyone hear of the First Amendment at Ithaca?
Is it microagression when an atheist rolls his eyes at a Christian?
Micro-aggressions to be reported= putting all behavior under a MICROscope.
Outrageous! What, I ask you, is the purpose of secret tribunals and Star Chambers if the people running them have to reveal their identities?
Free speech notwithstanding
And if the student who has been sued for microaggression turns around and countersues for damage to reputation, etc. the college will be included as a defendant and they will shut this thing down real fast.
Anonymous reporting of “microagressions”? What next,a knock on the door at 2AM by a man dressed up like Molotov?
Sue them? Because you are offended by some perceived slight???
What if the system was co-opted by the right?
Oh, this ought to be fun. Hate another girl because she has nicer hair than you? Accuse her! Another guy hitting on your target? Report him!
If the normal students want this stopped, all they have to do is spam the heck out of it. It's anonymous and kind of a dumbass idea anyway.
So, I would assume that sarcasm is definitely a micro-agression? My guess is that Ron White will not be invited to speak at any graduation ceremonies.
If a conservative reported a case, I’m sure the administration would allow the microaggressor to launch a counter-claim of microaggression.
“Isn’t it a bit micro-passive/aggressive to report rather than confront micro-aggression?”
That might be true, but when a “micro-aggressor” gets confronted and gets his a** kicked, the micro-aggressor runs to his mommy and she has the lawyers get busy.
(Doncha know that micro-aggressors are allowed to shoot their mouths off, knowing full well that they’ll have a payday by way of the courts after the civil and criminal suits bear fruit?)
IMHO
Since the Left is now redefining sexism to include “smiling and warmth”, and Hillary’s attack squads are looking out for attack words like polarizing, calculating, disingenuous, insincere, ambitious, inevitable, entitled, over confident, and secretive, I’m sure that “micro-aggression” will be defined so broadly that a student can sue any non-conforming person at any time for just about anything.
“The system will also track who is reporting the microaggression and how they believe they were insulted. “
Suing for insults whether real or not. Must be a law school.
