After a guest made a disparaging comment about country music, MSNBC host Ari Melber apologized on-air Wednesday afternoon and informed his audience that the network does not condone such remarks.
During a Now w/ Alex Wagner conversation about GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruzs statement that he became a country music fan directly after 9/11, guest Jamilah Lemieux opened up the conversation with this remark: Nothing says Lets go kill some Muslims like country music, fresh from Lynchburg, Virginia. Someone who obviously does not want to be a polarizing candidate, he wants to bring people together, I mean really? Thats absurd.
While co-panelists Joan Walsh and Michael Steele could be heard laughing at Lemieuxs remark, guest-host Melber responded: Well, I mean theres plenty of country music that doesnt have that message, right?
A few segments later, Melber appeared on-air with an apology: We have a programming note. A few minutes ago on this show, a guest made a comment about country music. That comment was not appropriate, and we want to be clear this network does not condone it.

No one heard the comment, no one heard the apology.
It’s not the idiots who are in charge anymore. It’s 2nd generation idiots.
Actually todays country music would kill anybody. I wouldn’t even call it country anymore, it’s more like gay Broadway show music.
And nothing says, “Let’s go kill some kaffir like Middle Eastern music.”
Initially no one hears it, but the conservative blogs like MRC and HotAir trumpet this statement and then MSNBC gets in the news cycle.
No wonder why Rush has a ban on the network.
When the drone made the severe part in her hair, it must have taken most of her gray matter with it.
“gay Broadway show music” seems like a triple redundancy to me.
Nothing says let’s cut back on welfare spending like Ted Cruz.
Oh yeah, now she just looks like a real genius. There’s probably more brain cells in a gnat.
Country music is more about killing brain cells
Agreed.
Nothing says "Lets go kill some Christians and Jews like the Muslim call to prayer."
More racism from black people on display huh?
So... what does rap say? What’s its message?
Don’t think they will use this music anytime soon.

If you know anything about this woman, you know she is a race baiter from the get go. Jamilliah apparently ‘sees’ racism as frequently as Harry Reid ‘sees’ the Koch Brothers under his bed. All they had to do was a ten minute youtube search, to know her. She celebrates her contempt and disregard for the white race at every opportunity.
Seriously, might have to start listening to country if that is what it says.
MSNBC is becoming more irrelevant with every stupid remark they make in the name of news.
However, hip hop-rap music is actually full of homicide glorification, gratuitous violence, and degrading comments toward women and whites.
Would Jamilah care to challenge? Didnt think so.
