Tried to look it up, the best I could do is this list of recent German scientists disciplined for misconduct.
It mentions nothing about DNA research, or Neanderthals.
Today there are numerous reports on Neanderthal DNA, how closely related it is to modern humans, and how much interbreeding went on.
The current answers are: Neanderthal DNA is 99.7% identical to ours, with from 1% to 4% of our (non-Africans) DNA inherited from interbreeding.
More recent studies (2014) suggest Neanderthal DNA may effect up to 30% of our own
I did also google-up several web sites with long lists of alleged & actual evolution-science frauds, which they imply makes all evolution data false.
I would suggest that such frauds are notable for their extreme infrequency, and have had no serious effect on the overall scientific enterprise.
Neanderthal remains found:
I found it. A lot of his dating was found to be a complete hoax.

No, and it’s stupid to bring that up again here on FR, where it was given the heave-ho not even one month ago. I like to think that FReepers are more thorough and more careful readers than that.
This is the ten year old story — regarding radiocarbon dating errors or purported errors — posted on FR in January (so, more than one month ago), and dated as if current, even though the actual story was from 2005. The mods very kindly added the “[2005]” to the headline after that was reported, the bogus date on the story was left as-was.
