I’m in my eighties and would never think of voting for most of the Dems I’m aware of. I am for Cruz all the way!
I have a neighbor (retired school teacher ) that is a Dem and it doesn’t matter what the person running for office is, he will vote for him/her along as they are Dems. They are in their eighties also. I tell him his party left him over the years, I believe he knows this but he just won’t change.
Most Democrat voters are simply grossly uninformed and conditioned by a lifetime of liberal propaganda to think/vote in lock step with the party. Few of them have ever sought to honestly inform themselves of the differences between the parties, what they stand for, or what effects their respective policies have created upon our country.
I was only able to break out of that mental prison when I made a conscious choice to give the 'other guys' a serious look, and find out for myself why "everyone" hated them so much.
Needless to say, it didn't take long for me to discover that I'd been tricked and lied to, my entire life. After that revelation, I steered to the right and never looked back.
My first cousin is an elementary school teacher on Long Island, New York.
She is in her 50’s, Catholic, Italian-American.....and votes Republican. She can’t stand Obama, and neither can her husband.
In 2012, when we asked her on the telephone if she would be able to get to the polls to vote (in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy), she said she would “swim to the polls if I had to.” She voted for Romney, probably more of a vote against Obama, and once told me that she wanted Obama and his vacationing family “gone!”
