This is Vox's piece by Brad Plumer depicting Senator James Inhofe tossing a snowball on the Senate floor. He then segues into more pretty charts showing data from the Climate Change Institute and NOAA.
When will the climate kook-aid drinking liberals get it through their heads?
It's not pretty charts, it's the data behind them that's cooked.
If you use cooked data to make pretty charts, they are still wrong. Ask professor John Christy what happens when you see the actual data, and come to a different conclusion than the kool-aid, chicken-bone, and tea-leaves portend.
John Christy, a professor of atmospheric science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, says he remembers the morning he spotted a well-known colleague at a gathering of climate experts. “I walked over and held out my hand to greet him,” Dr. Christy recalled. “He looked me in the eye, and he said, ‘No.’ I said, ‘Come on, shake hands with me.’ And he said, ‘No.’ ”Can you say "untouchable"?
“I detest words like ‘contrarian’ and ‘denier,’ ” he said. “I’m a data-driven climate scientist. Every time I hear that phrase, ‘The science is settled,’ I say I can easily demonstrate that that is false, because this is the climate — right here. The science is not settled.”In other words, pretty charts are really nice, but the data is not pointing at the cataclysm Ezra Klein and his phalanx of climate change Chicken Littles predict.Dr. Christy was pointing to a chart comparing seven computer projections of global atmospheric temperatures based on measurements taken by satellites and weather balloons. The projections traced a sharp upward slope; the actual measurements, however, ticked up only slightly.
Such charts — there are others, sometimes less dramatic but more or less accepted by the large majority of climate scientists — are the essence of the divide between that group on one side and Dr. Christy and a handful of other respected scientists on the other.
I think Sen. Inhofe had it right...there's a snowball's chance in hell (sorry, Oklahoma) that their data is correct. Sorry, Ezra, our great grandchildren are much more likely to hate us because they are living in caves with no electricity, money, weapons, or food by following the destructive socialist policies of the Left, than because of climate change.

What’s a mystery to me .. the group in the UK who perpetrated this HOAX, have already confessed they got it wrong by using “cooked” data.
And still .. the liberals are not ready to let it go. They just changed the title from Global Warming to Climate Change.
Of course the climate is changing .. it changes continually. All you need to do is study the earth’s relation to the Sun, and when the Sun gets closer to the earth .. geeeeee .. we seem to have warmer temps all over the world. Then, when the Sun moves farther away from the earth .. we get colder temps all over the world (such as what we are experiencing now).
I remember living in upstate NY (near lake Ontario) while I was finishing high school. Because I lived “in town”, I was forced to walk through waist-deep snow to get to school. I would have to take a change of clothes with me to school every day, so I didn’t have to stay in my wet clothes all day. Then, I would walk home after school and end up with another set of wet clothes.
That amount of snow is not new .. and it’s not unusual. It’s a constant cycle, depending on the earth’s relation to the Sun. It’s no more complicated than that.
The earth has not WARMED IN 17 YEARS. And .. personally, I believe that may have something to do with the severe winter we are experiencing now. If you want to read the truth .. Well .. that makes absolutely perfect sense .. the closer you are to the HEAT .. the colder it will be and vice versa ..?? WHAT ..??

One can teach algebra to a horse. It doesn’t mean the horse will learn anything; I’ve only been an amateur astronomer for thirty years.
Well .. GOD created the heavens and the earth .. so I’d go for logic instead of pie in the sky prognostications.
That way .. it would only be logical that if the sun is closer to the earth, then we should be having warmer weather. And .. therefore, if the sun is farther away from the earth .. logically it should mean that our weather would be cooler.
GOD is logical. Maybe you should purchase a DVD called, “The Privileged Planet”. It’s such an amazing video. The Earth is actually in the most perfect spot in the universe in order to explore the rest of the solar system. If our orbit was just a little bit one way, we might be as icy as Mars; or if we were just a little bit the other way, we would burn up. We are privileged to live on such a beautiful planet.
I didn’t study astronomy .. I just had a nephew who was a space junky. Worked at Edwards Air Base .. and helped to get me interested in the whole space stuff. I just know GOD didn’t make a mistake when he created this earth .. he created it for humans to live on. Because I believe that .. I just can’t buy some of the crazy stuff out there today.
Maybe you should study the actual observations made by astronomers since the time of Kepler. It isn’t only distance but the angle of incidence that governs how much solar energy lands on the planet. This isn’t a matter of conjecture, opinion or consensus. The earth is two to three million miles closer to the sun on January fifth than on July tenth.
The night side of mercury is seventy million miles closer to the sun than we are and hundreds of degrees colder.
