This is the standard description. Was hoping perhaps there might be a “rest of the story” to it, but it appears that if you are not leftist, you will feel out of place.

I work in downtown Seattle but live 30 miles to the south. I personnaly don’t know any liberals. There are good and bad areas so make sure she does her homework before renting. The lack of sunshine and abundance of drizzaly days are depressing. I stay because I make twice the money that I could anywhere else.

That is DEFINITELY true. I thrive on it, though. However, you can lose your job over it, especially if you are young. The reason is that the younger you are, the less skill you have in knowing when NOT to say things like Al Gore is a nincompoop.
