His point was, as it is when any leftist/atheist uses this argument,
that Christian standards of behavior and civilization are not valid,
because at some point in the history of humanity,
so person or group were hypocrites.
I understand that.
I always hate when someone uses a “he did it first” argument. Ever civilization has done horrible things at one time or another. My God, the British thought we were barbarians because we shot at their officers from behind rock walls.
But, after time you have to let that stuff go. The inability for cultures to let things pass is foreign to that part of the world. It has always been a blood feud going back centuries.
My message to the Arab and Middle East world is to look at the children of the west. How many of us know one or two children that have died before adulthood. Now look at them and ask the same question. The same figure for them is four or five times as high.
If they cannot, or will not, protect their children and work for them to have a better life, how can we expect them to act towards us.
They will not change. We must. We can let them live in their part of the world, unchanged for centuries. But stop trying to make others change.
