The word "gender" to mean sex has been in use since the 14th century, hence the term "transgender". I'm pretty sure people here knew what I meant.

In the 14th century “gender” started being applied to grammar (masculine/feminine/neuter), in the 15th folks started getting sloppy and confounding masculine with male and feminine with female. The word has since been completely corrupted by people who want to pretend that maleness and femaleness are as arbitrary and malleable as grammatical categories, and should be avoided when what is meant is sex.
The ridiculous term “transgender” is of recent vintage, another way the left has twisted the languare. The correct term is “transvestite”.
