Hi FRiends, I have a prayer request for a second grade girl who went to school with my daughter last year before moving away. She has some kind of meningitis that is threatening her life. It is a frightening situation! Please see the comment for details. Thank you!!!
Praying . . .
Prayers up! If the doctors haven’t already, have them check for a fungal infection.
Small world! Incidentally, my sister is named Jacqueline J!
We have a cautiously optimistic update:
Dear family and friends,
Thank you so much for the continued prayers for Jane. We are so humbled and grateful for the outpouring of continuous support.
Jane’s neurosurgical procedure to monitor the pressure in her head went well. Her team of healthcare professionals and surgeon were truly amazing. Additionally, we now know the pressure level in jane’s head and it is lower than anyone had suspected. Great news, such a relief, and more reason to believe shes getting on top of this and her inflammation is going down! That extra data point will also help the doctors understand how much stimulation she can handle and start to adjust her many medical interventions (helping manage her vitals) to hopefully start the journey out of the ICU. So we are hoping (and doctors are working on) a quiet night tonight.
The thinking is that this was an uncommon virus combined with Jane’s strong immune system’s aggressive response that drove her inflammation to the dangerously high levels we’ve been fighting.
Jane continues to amaze us with her strength. And she’ll need it, her care team’s talents, and our support to get on the road to recovery.
We thank everyone for the continued overwhelming support, love, and prayers - please keep them coming! Jane and all of us can feel them and find strength knowing how many people truly care from places near and far.
Locally, we are grateful for an awesome mass and prayer service for Jane tonight. That included signs that people are putting in their windows around the community. We shared a couple of photos.
We will happily fight this battle as long as it takes to get our girl home. Thank you all for staying with us. It means everything.
Tears of gratitude to Our Lord for this good news. Please keep us posted, as we continue to pray for Jane, her family, and her medical care-team.
Our prayers are with you, your friends and their daughter.
Just got a message from my son, who included this link to Jane’s progress. He thinks our prayers are helping.

Let’s keep up the prayers, always remembering His power, and His will.
