Poll: Democrats Need To Win Over Blue-Collar Voters, Unmarried Women By MAGGIE HABERMAN 1/16/15
In the few horse-race matchups from the poll, Clinton beats out Mitt Romney by 6 percentage points and Jeb Bush by 12 points, the survey found.
Democrats future in 2016 hinges largely on performing better with white working-class voters and unmarried women, as the party looks toward the presidential election with Hillary Clinton as its front-runner, a new Democracy Corps poll shows.
The poll, a joint project of pollster Stan Greenberg and Page Gardner of Womens Voices Womens Vote, will be released Friday. It focuses on the direction of the Democratic Party moving forward after a brutal midterm cycle that cost it the Senate majority and a number of governorships. Story Continued Below
There are positive points for the Democrats, such as an improved voter mood nationally since the election. President Barack Obama is also viewed more positively, while congressional Republicans have not seen their brand improve, according to the survey.
The right track/wrong track numbers are also trending more positively for the outgoing president. Obamas stronger, and people are more optimistic about where the countrys going, Greenberg said in an interview, noting that Obama is now at 48 percent approval.

We need a President who has the Conservative ideology: Those values that never change and are based upon reason and logic rather than emotion and relativistic ideology. It is the real world tested by time. It is individualistic, rather than collectivistic. It is the heart of America’s traditions: Conservatives want to keep the values of our nation’s founders which hold that the role of government should be restricted to functions that support and protect individual liberty rather than regulations that restrict and tax. That means a strong defense and the rule of law enforced by strong law enforcement. And finally, Conservatives believe that the more government enables individuals to shirk individual responsibilities, the more they will rely on government to redistribute wealth so they can continue to shirk their responsibilities. One could write a book on the extent of the Conservative Ideology. Let our Conservative candidate write that book.
Because the Conservative ideology is based upon reason, it has had a long history to test its validity. Because of that, the Conservative ideology has been vindicated by history and needs not be defended. It needs to be taught to every American and every generation.
Not all of the American electorate understands the Conservative ideology. They have been distracted by too many other things. They need to be treated like students who don’t want to study trigonometry or calculus. There needs to be sugar to coat that pill. The key is in pragmatism. What are the practical consequences? There needs to be a practical reason for learning something that seems so irrelevant. Someone who warns of bad consequences and shows the good has great appeal. They need to be taught in parables with baby steps. They need a great communicator who can capture their imagination.
The American electorate needs someone who will capture their imagination with a pragmatism that has been successful in their own life. It is the successful man (or woman) that appeals Americans who desire a government that fixes things. So far, Big Government has shown how it screws thing up—big time. Such a candidate would appeal to the American can-do spirit. And, such a candidate would show that their success came from their conservative values and would teach that these values, universal to all Americans (and people) is the secret to happiness. It is happiness that exists in the real world and not in the fantasy world of the Unicorn Farm.
My Dream Team: Senator Ted Cruz (President), Governor Sarah Palin (Vice President).
“Democrats Need To Win Over Blue-Collar Voters”
Let me translate: “Democrats Need To Win Over WHITE Voters”
...and they won’t get there with expanded welfare ‘benefits’ and pills for Sandra Fluke. Not when they are also DEMANDING gay marriage and grabbing guns.
I think they did already with $2 gas; Obama just went positive in Gallup tracking poll.
