Lets talk about all the great things that Russia the Soviet Union has done for the ungrateful Ukraine... 1. Collectivization of all private property. 2. Murder of most farm owners (Kulaks). 3. Ukrainian Holodomir (murder by starvation) (and this only brings us to 1940)
The dictator at the time of 3. was a Georgian, not a Russian, and the shock troops for 1. and 2. were largely Latvians and Lithuanians, and these were done to Russians in Russia as well.
But hey, let's not obscure the anti-Russian sentiment underlying Ukranian nationalism with facts.

Give me a break. The Russians called the shots regardless of the nationality of the puppet at the head of the so-called government. Go crawl back in bed with Putin. Anti-Russian sentiment, as you call it, has almost always been borne out as prudent.

I am not against the Russian people. However the leadership of Russia are the same suspects that led the Soviet Union. The Ukrainians just want their own country, but were forced into the Russian/Soviet orbit in 1921. I have been to the Ukraine twice in the last few years.
1. Can you blame the Ukrainian people for wanting to be free and be western?
2. Are you blaming Ukrainians for Anti-Russian sentiment?

Funny, that the Russians had to build a wall to keep the Georgians, Latvians, and Lithuanians in.

But hey, let's not obscure the anti-Russian sentiment underlying Ukranian nationalism with facts. You find it amazing that they would dislike their invaders and occupiers??
Let's talk about the Russian nationalism that sees all neighboring countries as stolen Russian land and makes anti-Americanism a key to nationalism.
