Head slap?.....Deacon Jones!!!! (He be Ringin’ ‘dere bells and bees puttin’ ‘em ‘ta sleeps baby!!)
>>Head slap?.....Deacon Jones!!!!<<
Back when players were players, defensive men said things like “I am going to kill your family and let you live (Lyle Alzado)” and QBs were as tough as the defenders.
We also had the “force out” reception and the 5 yard incidental facemask.
That was a CATCH
Sure...but he didn’t get control until he was going to the ground, and didn’t maintain control *through* contact with the ground.
This is a fairly basic and longstanding rule.
It was close, and I’d have preferred it was a catch...but sadly it wasn’t, as the ground punched the ball out of his grasp when he and then the ball hit the ground.
The catch that was reviewed earlier in the game clearly wasn’t, as it rotated on the ground while out of the receivers’ grasp. THAT one was clearly blown, even with replay...though it did take the reverse angle to see.
Congrats! And you could get your photo taken hugging Scott Walker and no one would be the wiser :-)
TEXAS BOZO! TEXAS BOZO!
Some days are worse than others but overall, the summers make up for the misery of winter.
I was trying to say he could have gone for a catch, let knee hit ground, and have it on the 2 yd line.
But I suspect he went hero and stretched, trying to keep knee up, and lost ball.
But my opinion is worth all I was paid for it.
Love and Peace,
Scram
I’m gonna type REALLY REALLY SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW so you can perhaps understand my point.
I’ve no problem with the call.
I have a problem with the rule.
your last post was assinine and not pertinent and demonstrates a less than third grade reading comprehension level on your part.
Go change your diaper.
>>I have a problem with the rule.<<
So what? Who cares?
>>your last post was assinine and not pertinent and demonstrates a less than third grade reading comprehension level on your part.<<
I agreed with you are stupid rules. I agree that agreeing with you by anyone is assenine.
>>Go change your diaper.<<
Grow up and learn to live with things as they are, whining baby.
You made this personal, so live with it, foolish child.
It seemed to me like he was running with the ball after making the reception.
Too bad. It would have made a more dramatic ending.

I think there is something in what you say. Had he curled the ball in he might have tucked it away and off the ground.
Good eye.
Absolutely! And lets not dismiss the fact that the only reason the Cowpokers were in the stadium is due to the blatant pass interference call that was overturned last week...........
Payback is a bitch...........Go Packers!
I think that is part of the problem........ knowing the rule.
Yeah it was difficult for me to see in normal speed, but in slo mo it’s quite clear that he was not running, and it was not a reception.
Hate to see a game end on something questionable, but in the end it was not questionable. Good call.
And lost one to the Red Skins

I have been told that doesn’t count (not quite sure why). But yeah, karma is a byotch.
Garret said it best today — if the game and the season come down to one call we don’t deserve to win.
I think the Cowboys’ future is pretty bright — young team and Romo played injured most of the year.
The wind chill at that game was around 40 below zero.
Probably correct. He’s a very physically gifted receiver. Even falling like that he often makes the catch.
I like the Packers and Cowboys and let me just say Dallas was robbed of a chance to maybe win the game. Dez Bryant made that catch. Not saying Rodgers would not have went right down field and scored but the call was BS!! But that game is over and now Packers will have the distinction of losing to Seattle twice in the same season.
