So does Ceiling Cat.

Personally I don’t see why dogs and cats can’t be in heaven. That would be heaven in my eyes.

I agree. It wouldn't be Heaven without all of our loved ones, would it? I can't see God denying us those reunions.

I won't hold any animus against the "all cats go to hell" poster and hope they join us in Heaven...but that they also get litter box duty for a millennia or two.

Sorry — I am a Rainbow Bridge believer.

Once a loving bond is established between a pet and its owner (in the case of dogs) or staff (in the case of cats), then that pet will be there in the bye and bye.

Did Jesus die for our pets? No, of course not. Can God, the Almighty both create a soul and insert it at the first moment of love and caring? He is Almighty, of COURSE he can!

But theology of pets is fraught with difficulties as we explain feral dogs and cats and pigs we eat, etc.

All I know is that if heaven doesn’t include my beloved 18+ and 25+ year old cats and my wife’s beloved collie then it ain’t heaven for us.

Who can possibly be the Erasmus of animal theology? Not I so I must fall back on beliefs upon which my understanding of Scripture is understandably silent.
