This is a real conflict for me. I am very pro 2nd and have a CCL. I also was campus security for a year and no way would I want some some of those people packing for the same reasons you state. Maybe a compromise could be reached with a zero alcohol while packing rule . Some of the kids I dealt with would loose the gun or have it stolen while passed out.

Me too, I am very pro 2nd amendment. Stupid kids do stupid things. I work at a college, no alcohol or drugs on campus. Right... every now and then someone gets kicked out of student housing for drugs, guns (usually bb guns) or alcohol. I strongly believe our security guys should qualify and carry and I am a big advocate of teachers/admin personnelly carrying. Our state allows for guns on campus but our college applies for an exemption every 2 years. If there was a way to make sure the kids didn't carry while drinking, I'd be all for it. It's not the guns that scare me, it's the combination of alcohol and guns. I see as security you understand what you're up against.

Every CCW reg I have seen already has a prohibition against carrying while imbibing.
