With respect to color, what I wrote is correct, and what you wrote is substantially true, but actually incorrect in full generality. White is the presence of all colors. Black is the absence of color, not light.

Why is what you have written incorrect? Colors are wavelengths of light in the visible spectrum. But light is not limited to the visible spectrum. Black is the absence of all colors, but it is not the absence of light. X-Rays are light, so are microwaves. When you turn out the light in your bedroom, there is still light there [you are being bombarded by gamma rays from outer space, and long wavelength radio waves from terrestrial transmitters even in the dark.]
