Buffalo, NY A high profile case of Buffalo police killing a mans dog while looking for non-existent drugs, has led to a Freedom of Information request revealing some sadistic figures.
On June 3, 2013 Buffalo police raided a mans home to look for crack cocaine. He was not there, nor was the crack.
The home belonged to Iraqi war veteran, Adam Arroyo and his 2-year-old pit bull Cindy.
Upon breaking down the door to Arroyos home, officers encountered Cindy, who was barely 50 pounds, and shot and killed her. They were at the wrong apartment.
According to use of force reports requested by WGRZ-TV under the Freedom of Information Law, Buffalo Police shot 92 dogs from Jan. 1, 2011 through Sept. 2014. Seventy-three of those dogs died. Nineteen survived.
To provide a comparison, Buffalos numbers more than triple the amount of dog shooting incidents involving police in Cincinnati, a municipality of similar size.
The numbers are what the numbers are, Buffalo Police Chief of Detectives Dennis Richards said in an interview with WGRZ. Certainly, no officer takes any satisfaction in having to dispatch a dog.
Perhaps an even more disturbing reality is that nearly 30 percent of these dog shootings in Buffalo were carried out by one man. The unidentified officer has shot 26 dogs, killing 25 of them, in just the last three years.

I trust criminals ... /s
Which makes one wonder how they treat people. The hallmark of a psychopath is that they mistreat animals and then work their way up to abusing people. With regard to the one serial puppy-killer I wonder what his use-of-force record with people looks like? How many people has he killed?
Guess one would hear if a human was killed ... wouldn’t you think? A dog is killed but a human is worth less? How many thug dog does one know where the dog is worth less? At least brown wasn’t a thug /s
“Maybe the police departments need to do pre-employment assessment.”
Maybe these dummies should do employment assessments. The violent offenders are operating with them. This isn’t a pre-employment issue, this is a here-and-now issue. Of course, I paint all cops with a broad brush of being tyrannical as I don’t see but a handful ever standing up to this nonsense. Cops are either with us or with them. There is no other option.
The Michael Brown shooting (right or wrong) was a breaking point for that community much the same way the Bundy Ranch confrontation was a breaking point for another community. If we look at the one event as an isolated event then we're looking at it the wrong way because from the perspective of many of the local people it is not an isolated event just the same as the Bundy Ranch was not an isolated event to us.
No, it's not an excuse for looting. But I will recognize that what happened in Ferguson is related to what's happening in Buffalo where we have police departments that are, measure by measure, becoming a criminal element in their own communities.
That’s easy. Mail carriers are in cars and have little to fear from dogs. Police DO deal with dogs. Unfortunately for owners their method of dealing with them is to shoot them. :-).
Police that do this uncessarily are scum and should be fired... unless it is a pitbull then I am fine with it.
Why is this a breaking point? Does the community just want to admit they prefer thugs over law and order?
Poor lil thing.
Cops are really becoming Jack Asses and thugs.
I hate saying that.
I really have the utmost respect for their jobs and crazy chaos they have to deal with daily but, if you are executing a search warrant or acting on a tip, they really and totally ought to do proper and severe surveillance to ensure their Perp is indeed present for capture.
Fk modern Cops.
Cept the few good guys...
What do you choose when there's no difference?
People all over Mexico are asking that question right now as that country hangs on the edge of revolution.
So now they're just "dispatched?"
