Another piece of writing from the school of: "Everything men do is wrong. By definition."

I damn sure rather running a clipper across my face once every 3-4 weeks than running a razor across my face every morning.
Lot less bloody in the long run :)

Well crap. I've had a beard since 1976 and now I'm just part of a fad.
For me it's always been about 10 minutes of extra sleep 6 days a week (and on the 7th day he trimmed) ... and, of course, covering up the ugly.

I recall an episode of the 1960’s TV show “That Girl” in which Donald, one of the main characters, grew a beard, which sparked outrage from Lew, his girl friend’s father. Lew told him that the beard made him look like a Communist and challenged him to name someone with a beard who wasn’t a Communist. Donald responded, naming Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Walt Whitman, etc., to which Lew retorted, “name one who is living.” Donald had no answer.

I haven’t the slightest clue who came up with the term “lumbersexual.”
To: Shimmer1
Ill tell you this, I am wildly attracted to facial hair, but ONLY short beards, really short.
You and me both. The only reason my husband has a beard is for ME. He and a friend got drunk together YEARS ago and decided shaving their entire heads would be fun. He's never done it since. I told him that was the equivalent of me cutting my hair short, which HE doesn't want. They both looked like refugees from Schindler's list!

<> I'm the writer, I have a wife and four little kids. The issue here is that there are those who believe that their beard defines their masculinity. I'm not writing about a bunch of old codgers who have had beards their entire life or the Duck Dynasty people who are generally fairly old. I'm writing about young people who are wearing beards in large numbers. They're doing so in a desperate attempt to regain their masculinity from a overly feminized society and/or a society that really hates men and masculinity. I'm suggesting they're going about it in all the wrong ways. A beard doesn't make a man, how he treats women, loves his children and most importantly how much he loves Christ makes a man.

Who invents these idiotic terms [like "lumbersexual"]? Probably the same one who came up with the idiotic term "metrosexual."
To: Fiji Hill; LeoMcNeil
Probably the same one who came up with the idiotic term "metrosexual." I was thinking of that ... both terms are idiotic; the described behavior has nothing to do with sex.
Seriously: First time I saw the term "metrosexual", I thought it would have something to do with a weird fetish involving city buses.
When I first saw the headline "Paris Hilton Sex Scandal" I wondered what the French were up to ...

Really, the same could be said about ‘shavers’.
To each his own. And, women find significant stubble, at least, to be sexy. Why not humor them?
To: LeoMcNeil
Probably written by some homosexual liberal who likes shaved chest hairs, too.
