Whatever happens next Tuesday, President Obamas time in office will have cost his party more seats in Congress than any president in at least half a century.
The numbers are stark. President Obama took office after the 2008 elections with 257 Democrats in the House of Representatives. At the moment, there are only 199 members of his party left a net loss of 58 seats. And, virtually all analysts expect the number of Democrats to decline even more next Tuesday. The only question is by how much.
To put that number in perspective, the 58 seats already lost by the current president even tops the 46 lost by Richard Nixon amidst the Watergate scandal.
On the Senate side, the same trend is confirmed. Following the 2008 elections, the Democrats held 59 Senate seats. Expectations are that they will have between 45 and 50 following next weeks elections, a decline of 9 to 14 seats. Nixons Republicans lost six seats over the same time frame.

I do agree with you on that. Number one primary thing to do would be to repeal Obamacare. Not some little tax on equipment, but the whole stinking thing.
IMHO, he is telegraphing the punch: He is going to do whatever he wants and Congress won't stop him.
You don't play tiddlywinks with a rabid dog. Finish what you start or it will come back to haunt you.
“at the point where we can impeach Obama?”
That would be sweet.
We can list the reasons, almost any of them would be grounds to toss this epic failure out.
OBAMA DOESN’T CARE ABOUT LOST DEMOCRAT SEATS.
No. Obama wants to rule by decree like a king.
and he knows the GOP establishment won’t stand up to him.
this is just what the president wants.
The dens on the Hill destroyed themselves. There was a time when congress, regardless of party, jealously guarded its power vis a vis the executive. Thus, the executive needed congress in order to govern. The democrats have ceded that authority making themselves irrelevant to their own Dear Leader. What does he care about congress if he governs by executive fiat. They could have 50 seats in the House and he would care the less. More of the other party to blame and continue his never ending campaign against.
Wow...first time I have seen that. Very nice. I stared at it for quite awhile.
I read just today that most of the democrats that favor the pipeline will probably lose on Tuesday, which the article speculated that the republicans may not have 60 votes to even approve the pipeline. So don't expect a whole lot.
I agree impeachment isn’t the way to go. It’s going to be unnecessary. Obama is smelling up the room. The Democratic Party has followed him into the abyss. The liberal brand is on life support.
They should have already done this, but look for Obama to get the hook from his own side. It won’t be overt, there will be a cover story. Perhaps he will be asked to contract some illness that won’t permit him to continue in office, the attempt will be made to make him a sympathetic character. Probably won’t work.
Bringing down the deems. The one thing Obola got right.
Sociopaths don’t go quietly.
No. You will just give fodder and a martyr to the democrats
Barry is half black by blood but was raised by a white grannie and mother. He is NOT African American
Agree. Let’s roll! Don’t give up the ground game, fight for a victory. We need 10% more votes just to counter the fraud.
Staying home is not an option. We need to retake the Senate.
It is our job to keep the fire on and maybe, just maybe, we can start to turn things around. Feet to the fire.
Great post! But now tell us how you really feel. :)
Impeach him?
What for and why ?
The congressional leadership just needs to tell him his golf game needs work.....
Don’t worry about running the country anymore. Just keep that pen ready to sign legislation....between rounds....
