Can someone explain to me who Mark Levin is always taking pot shots at at the beginning of his show? Is it Michael Savage?
If so, what's the deal between the two? I rarely ever get to listen to Savage at work.
They replaced Hannity with Savage in DC on WMAL...granted Sean was wearing thin IMO but I have to turn Savage off, he contradicts himself so much and I cant stand the constant extreme fear mongering to sell his crappy books. Levin, to his detriment, can get a little shrill sometimes but his mind is so damn sharp you get an education from his take on things judicial and political. No other host can match the Levin intellect IMO.
First, head to head, Savage is trouncing Levin’s friend, Hannity in major or all of the major markets they compete in. Levin makes fun of Savage’s meatballs and dogs, yet he speaks of his dog at his feet and his love for a great steak, but he can not pull it off like Savage. He can’t tell a story like Savage either.
Years ago, before ISIS, Savage said the end of ME hostilities requires Israel and USA to decisively defeat Islamism. Levin is just warming to that of late.
Yea, there is jealousy there.
I like Savage and Levin. Whosoever fights for the good guys is OK by me and that includes both of them.
Savage mercilessly drives the liberals and sodomites in San Fran nuts, which is great.
I used to like Savage until it came out that he gave $5,000—the maximum contribution allowed by law—to Jerry Brown, aka Governor Moonbeam, in his campaign for state attorney general. Brown is now our governor and he’s bringing California into the Third World.
Savage’s conservative credentials are as phony as his name.
I can’t stand either one. Levine’s screeching delivery annoys me and Savage tends to be a little pompous too much of the time.
Savage is the only “conservative” talking head I know who goes out of his way to attack other conservative talk show hosts. And I’ve heard a lot of them. That indicates to me that Savage is an incredibly insecure egomaniac.
Levin can be grating, but he is very bright. The rest, for the most part, are primarily entertainers.
Levin used to be on the radio with Ron Kirby, a self-professed Communist. Kuby is also very bright, and I found their conversations to be fascinating.
Savage will feud with anybody.
Kirby should be Kuby.
Both good in their own way.
Crappy books, indeed! I started reading his book The Savage Nation but stopped when I got to the part where he suggested that Germany may have been behind NATO's bombing of Yugoslavia "to fulfill a German dream of a Baltic Sea port." Anyone looking at a map of Europe can see that Germany's longest coastline is along the Baltic Sea and that Yugoslavia is nowhere near the Baltic.
I know and agree with what you are saying.
I also did not like the time Savage allowed Chuck Schumer to use him as his “useful idiot” in the Dubai Ports Deal.
Savage seems like a leftwing parody of what they think conservatives are. He is obnoxious.
Levin makes fun of Savage for talking about food. Also for cavorting naked in the surf with Alan Ginsburg, and for being “snaggle-toothed,” and “short.” Also for actually being named “Weiner.”
Savage makes fun of Levin for sounding like Fredo, or “like Goucho Marx’s aunt having a hysterectomy without anesthesia.” And for being chummy with Hannity and Rush.
I think they have some philosophical differences, but i don’t know what those are.
They have more in common than not. They would be a powerful tandem working in concert. Bury the hatchet boys and concentrate on the enemy!

In New York on WABC as well as on Dallas on WBAP, in the key demo of A25-54, Savage has lost a whopping 49% of the audience that he inherited from Sean Hannity. Other key markets tell a similar story as you can see below. All in all, Savage has bled away almost half of the audience on the key stations that were given to him in 2014 (In Los Angeles, where Cumulus has decided not to air the Savage Nation, KABC-AM has dropped 27% without Hannity).
(I don’t listen to any of them any more.)
Omniscient Certitude do you have the ratings numbers to back this assertion? I read that Savage has lost a great deal of Hannitys’ audience in the slots he took over, head to head is a different story though.
