The myth of a massive population of native Americans being exterminated by the likes of Columbus is high fantasy at best. Exceptional scholars have estimated the numbers as far less than initially stated by leftists who only wish to promote further antagonism. The actual, lower numbers are based on sound archeological evidence and recorded historical accounts. The left’s only response in confronting sound, irrefutable fact is “they killed them and hid the bodies! See! See!”.... Pathetic....

Liberal scholars come up with implausibly high figures for the pre-contact population of the present-day US. If you read the accounts of the earliest explorations by Narvaez, Cabeza de Vaca, Coronado, De Soto, etc., the land was not densely populated.

Apart from modern genocidal dictatorships like the Nazis and Communists, the Romans, the Mongols, and Tamerlane were far bloodier than any of the European nations which colonized the Americas.

Something that is rarely noticed is that, if Columbus had never tried to reach Asia by sailing West, the Western hemisphere would have become known to Europeans very soon anyway. Pedro Cabral discovered Brazil in 1500 by accident, when blown off course trying to sail from Portugal to India. Just 8 years after Columbus's first voyage.
