I think they ran out of the "miracle drug" weeks ago, and no more is expected until months from now. They have to rely on the possibility of using survivors' blood or something like that until more "miracles" are available.
In the meantime, the "miracle" of prayer may be their best hope, even though God's answer to our prayers isn't always what we explicitly asked for.
I suppose they did not get the memo, they don’t have enough for anyone anymore. They have already used it up before this guy came along.
There is no miracle drug. There are various ways to slow down the virus that might work for some people. But in general your immune system lucks out and kills off the virus at the end of incubation, or the virus spreads to your blood. When that happens, the virus replicates in every blood vessel wall. There is no drug or therapy on earth that will save you at that point.
