When I first wrote this article, Ebola was a distant threat in a few little countries on the other side of the globe. But, now it’s here, in America. Not only are there suspected cases and confirmed cases, there’s a note of hysteria in the news. Many of the supplies I originally recommended have been sold out. So I’ve updated this article with some new information and some new resources so that you can find the supplies you need. I have added multiple sources for as many things as possible. I urge you not to panic, and to prepare calmly and methodically. If you’re new to preparedness, this may feel very overwhelming. Pay special attention to the recommended books in that case, because they’ll guide you through this situation and many others. If you’ve been doing this for a while, realize you probably already have most of what you need. Your focus should be on topping up your supplies, and being watchful. The most important thing you can do is to remain focused and purposeful.

With something that displays itself as gruesomely as Ebola, with seizures and uncontrollable bleeding from every orifice, it’s unrealistic to think that a cover-up can last long. If this continues to spread, there’s no way that the government can keep it under wraps. This is NOT going to be easy to contain....

I know milk jugs aren’t recommended for water storage, but out of curiosity how long do they last?
Lot’s of folks don’t think about their pets. I’m getting a bunch of canned cat food tomorrow.

Can you imagine what a great treatment room a large master bath is (all things considered)?
All of the plumbing and scalding hot water, the great surfaces and porcelain, and a shower and toilet, and a separate bathtub that could be made into a bed with a waterproof mattress that could be hosed off with the hand sprayer, great electrical outlets for a TV and radio, good lighting, an individual space heater, even an exhaust fan for a smidgin of air suction.
With some plastic sheeting, duct tape and some medical supplies, the parent who had that would have a pretty good working space for a family member, there is even a lock on the door to keep out the little kids.
Look for clear plastic bottles, milk jugs are not worth the effort, because of the impossibility of sufficient cleaning and the deterioration of the plastic.
If you can, treat yourself to real, dedicated, long lasting water containers that will hold up.
The 100 mile thing is a good idea...a good figure to gauge how close it is.
If you drink a lot of pop empty two liter bottles are great for water storage.
You simply can not remove the milk proteins from the jugs it came in without breaking down the plastic. It’s better to buy bottled water in purpose built containers. That will last for decades with no worries providing you store it properly.
I just received a small prepper order today.
I bought 100 Astra superior platinum double edge razors for $8.51.
After the Dallas patient surfaced, I got serious with supplies.
Hopefully they won't be needed.
Learned how to build a sick room from the SHTF website.
You know you are well prepared when your latest prep purchase is for double edge razors! (Lots of uses though.)

I think we’ve really screwed the pooch on this one. The only place in the world I know of where illegal immigrants are court-mandated to receive free health care at taxpayer expense is the US.
THEY WILL ALL BE COMING HERE FOR EBOLA CARE.
It will finish the health care industry. Everyone will drop their insurance. I already have a 12k deductible. Why am I paying 250 a month for that? And now I’m going to be assessed for Ebola treatment costs? IMO, that’s why the first hospital sent him away. They guessed he had Ebola and didn’t want to have to eat the costs so they sent him home.
And yep, it will totally wreck the healthcare industry if this $hit spreads. Among other industries. Like any travel. Any restaurants. Amusement parks. Make a list.
Prepare what you can prepare for. That insurance is much cheaper.
Milk jugs make horrible water storage. Seems grow weak over a relatively short time. Two litter soda bottles hold up much much longer.
