Stewart also took Bolling to task for saying that Obama had no respect for the men and women in the military...and then asks if that female UAE fighter pilot represented ‘boobs on the ground’. Not overly respectful on Bollings part either.

You could explain all day long about the difference between saluting with something in your right hand and something in your left hand, but Jon Stewart only has to fool his brain-dead audience of howler monkeys, so you would be wasting your breath.

Bush is transfering the dog to his left arm so he has his right hand free to salute. Obama can’t be bothered to transfer his coffee cup to his left hand. It is permissable to salute with your right hand with something in your left hand but not in your right.

That is the difference.

“When George W. Bush took us to war, any criticism was shouted down as treasonous,” Stewart says in disgust with Fox.

And while Obama actually commits treason, any criticism of him is deemed racist. Surely Jon can do better than that - time to fire his writers ...

Here’s the difference between Obama’s “latte salute” and GWB’s “doggie salute” - President Obama is to the military what GWB (and his father, and most Republicans) is to the media - inasmuch that in both cases, they are tolerated, treated publicly with respect, but not much liked.

So when President Obama makes a gesture like this, it amplifies something that people already know about him. It is therefore not most comparable to GWB’s doggie salute - it is most comparable to that notoriously awkward moment when his father, President George HW Bush, looked at his watch during a campaign debate performance.

In both cases, the awkward gesture amplified some legitimate impressions that people had about a president under those circumstances, as President Obama’s feelings toward the military are likely nearly as President Bush’s (either one, or nearly any Republican) feelings toward the media. And in both cases, the gesture was a public reminder of this.

“When George W. Bush took us to war, any criticism was shouted down as treasonous,” Stewart says in disgust with Fox. “But a president you don’t like has the country poised on the same precipice and no transgression, no matter how immaterial and ridiculous, is too small to cite as evidence that this president isn’t as American as you are.”

The VERY BIG difference is that Bush took us to war for a good reason - defending America against murdering terrorists. To the extent that Obama is taking us to war (and it's war-light with no "boots on the ground", which probably means special forces in ballet slippers acting as forward air controllers), he's doing it as an October Surprise campaign stunt to look less like a sissy and reduce the losses in the US Senate this election. Our soldiers are not a toy for political campaigns, and his abuse of their lives for so trivial a purpose is reprehensible, fully justifying any and all criticisms.

I’d love to see this limpdick try to square up with Eric Bolling. Sort of like Jim Rome vs. Jim Everett.

Reagan started the tradition and personally I think this executive should be honest and not salute at all. Case closed.

As usual with the retarded left, this is totally false.

So Obama’s justification to go to war is valid. GWB’s was not.
Riiiiiight. Jon Stewart can GFH.

Let’s see, the media gave Bush 8 years of vicious bashing and magnified anything he did wrong as 100 times worse.

The current media has a guy who does things that are 100 times worse than anything Bush ever did and you barely hear a peep.

...Jon Stewart isn’t very observant, is he?

And he’s right.

It’s petty, penny ante and dilutes our core criticisms , as well it supresses our awesome solutions and plans for a better America, a better world.

move on already and let’s sack him on issue of supreme importance.
