Perth and Kinross votes No 60-40
I agree. The only results I’m really waiting for are Glasgow and Edinburgh. Neither one really has the power to upset the apple cart, unless the Yes votes take a sudden (and unexpected) sharp swing up.
Glasgow votes Yes.
NO | Votes 1,031,472 - | 55.32% |
---|---|---|
YES | Votes 833,031 - | 44.68% |
TARGET TO WIN | Votes - | N/A% |
After 21 of 32 counts |
Glasgow votes Yes 53.5-46.5, way below the rate Yes needed, and turnout was 75%, lower than most of the country. This was where Yes needed to bank a big load of votes to win nationally.
195,000 Yes
169,000 No - not a big margin
Commentators on the Beeb are now saying there’s just no way the Yes campaign can get enough votes to overcome the No votes.
The United Kingdom remains United.
North Ayrshire votes No 51-49
NO | Votes 1,305,388 - | 54.21% |
---|---|---|
YES | Votes 1,102,788 - | 45.79% |
TARGET TO WIN | Votes 1,822,942 - | N/A% |
After 24 of 32 counts |
SCOTTISH BORDERS votes No 67-33

BREAKING NEWS: BBC CALLS IT FOR THE ‘NO’.

Cameron has congratulated the Yes folks.

Everything so far has shown NO ahead and YES can’t catch up .. now you’re saying they’ve won and Cameron conceded?
Edinburgh votes No 61-39
Adds 50,000 to the No vote lead - double what Glasgow gave to Yes
It is running around 55-45, but might go down to 56-44, or even 57-43.
dfwgator called it at post 23.
Cameron didn’t concede...Alex Salmond is the one who needs to make the concession.
I’m sorry, I’m sleepy.
No has won. Scotland stays in the UK
