a very compelling story however there is more:
he does an extremely good job of not rushing himself.
His slow tempo and restrained gestures somehow add to the weight of his speech.

Sherman, you might also be interested per our earlier discussion in another thread. You'll see that some of the terminology ("global village," "ecology," etc.) alludes to other efforts antithetical to the work described in the presentation (more conservative work than anything described in politics today). In other words, some of the terminology was cover for the project. There are other projects, too. We might see some real changes.

So people can change. It appears to be a recurring, strong sub-theme in the TED talks I’ve seen so far. Another question might be, though, how many people want to change themselves or their ways of living very extensively?
