Critters never cease to amaze me, there is intelligence to be found in some unlikely places.

I kept the blurry shots in this series, I was catching Yellow flies and trying to aim the camera simultaneously. This little Anole was my buddy for a couple of weeks one summer.

Great pics! Cute lizard! I tried to make friends with a large alligator lizard when I was a kid and it didn’t work out very well. The kid next door saw that I had a lizard so I gave it to him. It didn’t work out very well. So we put the lizard in a cage with a racer snake. It didn’t work out very well....for the snake.

I learned to stay away from alligator lizards.

Those are wonderful!

You know of my ‘snake thing’ but I recently got a Russian Tortoise.

Being wild-caught and sold as a pet, I really did not expect much of her, interaction-wise.

Although I’m very aware of the strong personalities of snakes, for some reason, [I’m ashamed to admit] that I really did not anticipate anything similar from turtles/tortoises.

What a surprise she has been.

After a week of adjustment, she started by coming out of her ‘house’ in the morning when she saw that I was up, actively seeking me out.

Then came the ‘demands’ for personal attention, including but not limited to hand feeding of special treats.

I guess I should have known, seeing this tortoise’s sense of play, possession...and *revenge*. :D

Precious photos. Thanks for sharing. I’m fond of reptiles and amphibians too, but never had such a moment.
