I have seen that particular post before. That dog looks just like our Sami, who is over 12.5 years old. It will kill my husband when her time comes. She has been with us since I was pregnant with our second (of four) children.

Eighteen months ago, we had to have our chocolate lab mix Joey put to sleep due to cancer. It was an incredibly difficult decision, and my husband didn’t want another dog after that. Then we noticed Sami becoming withdrawn and listless and he decided we needed to head to find her another packmate at the shelter. We soon brought home our beloved Tasha, a middle-aged brindle lab/boxer mix that came from a life of neglect. Sami became revitalized, and although she acts annoyed with Tasha’s playfulness at times, you can find them curled up together on the same bed quite often.

I have sent that message to a lot of people who say they are never going to have another dog. My eyes well up every time I read it. We rescue dogs, so we usually have two or three at varying ages and it helps to have some hugs when it's time for one to go.

I can't imagine a life without these wonderful friends God created for us.

That is awesome about Sami! This is the best thing I’ve heard lately!
