“...Rev Al was not on camera last night ‘No justice NO PEACE’...”
What exactly IS he (all joking aside?)
He’s not an elected official... he’s not in any official capacity, what possible relevance does he have to anything going on in Ferguson?
Is he even a real ordained minister?
He gets to double dip, as Megyn Kelly pointed out last night he plays journalist on MSNBC (very badly) while in Ferguson he stirs up the rioting and looting,
...as MSNBC journalist he concludes that the only way to stop the violence is to arrest the police officer, and that making the video public of the deceased criminal robbing that store caused the rioters and looters to go back on the offensive. (much like the Benghazi video)
Still funny to see them pelt Chris Hayes with rocks, whitey!
In the the Jim Crow South, blacks were not able to elect their own leaders because so many were denied the vote. That's why MLK was a black 'leader'... rather than an elected official. Back then it was the only way for Southern blacks to have a voice. After '64 when blacks established the right to register AND to have their vote counted - the need for the unelected 'leader' ended.
The problem was folks like MSNBC's Sharpton took advantage - and 'self appointed' themselves as leaders. Jesse enjoyed the power of not being elected except by himself - and cashed in also.
It worked because others got on board - the press and white liberal elites were looking for 'edgy blacks' who would carry their message of white self hatred (sham - but it got them elected) and rage. They bypassed elected black officials and went directly to the unelected hucksters for quotes and power.
In the meantime blacks tended to vote in responsible black representatives who were no where near as colorful and quotable as the self appointed poverty pimps. Hucksters like Sharpton exist in today's world because the press counts on them to fan the flames of racial hatred and better ratings. And higher circulation...
