Prayers for Fredd, canine companion of freeper ColdOne fractured his foot and is visiting the vet.
Please say a prayer for Fredd. We are all hoping he will be just fine.
Let us know, ColdOne how he is doing.
Update. We really checked his leg and paw last night. Cannot find a thing. This morning he still favors his paw and leg and walking on 3 legs but he tries to use all 4 once in a while. He wanted to go for our morning walk.
I took him just a real short ways, a few feet. Since it is a 4 hour trip to the vet I am going to wait a day and see if he improves, heck he walked down the embankment to the creek also this morning without crying out in pain.
Thank you all for the prayers. (((HUGS))) Will update later.
Prayers for Fredd’s foot to heal quickly and completely.
Carefully look *between the toes* as well as on the pads for slivers, cuts, puncture wounds, etc. They can get well up in there and not be seen.
Is there any swelling? If no swelling and he continues to use the foot more, it's probably just a mild strain. I would limit his activity while this works itself out.
Another good idea would be to give him a nice Epsom salt and warm water soak. That will relieve pain and swelling, and if there is a sliver or splinter it will draw it out.
But if he is still limping tomorrow, I would bundle him up and head for the vet (I will never complain again about our vet being 45 minutes away!)
No swelling at all. Nothing, we really checked his pad and between the toes and all of his leg many times. He is on the front porch as he usually is.
Heck i looked out the window a bit ago and he was next to the wood pile going after his nemesis....the chipmonk. In order to get to the wood pile he has to walk up and down 4 steps, yesterday it was a huge issue for him.
I will bring him inside after a bit, don’t want him to over due it.
Thank you
Done
Definitely don't let him overdo it. If he's a charge-ahead type guy, he will be ready before his foot is.
I have one like that - show her a duck and she forgets all about any aches and pains. She's a little nutz . . .
he really loves to be outside and walk or run with my 4wheeler.
He is inside now asleep here next to me on his pillow. Will keep him inside the rest of the day.
Prayers for sweet Fredd.. Hope it’s not serious.. May he recover super fast.
prayers for the pup!
Thanks ColdOne. How old is Fredd?
I agree.
Ping.
Thanks for the ping Joe and the post freekitty. I had already talked to ColdOne on another thread and sent prayers for Fredd.
Prayers for Fredd.
Awwww...saying prayers for Fredd’s quick healing.
We think he is 5 or 6. When I got him at the shelter they said he was maybe 1 or 2 years old. We have had him 3 years.
He is probably to young for joint problems. He may have just bruised himself or something. I had one that did that all the time.
You are very welcome. Hope Fredd is feeling better.
Thank you all for your prayers for Fredd. I am sure ColdOne and Fredd appreciate it.
I hope so. He is trying to walk on that leg more now. I took out his laser toy.................he was on the leg while playing with it. I only did it for a few seconds. I think that is encouraging.
