Sarah Palin Slams 'Jackass' Jesse Ventura for 'Shaking Down' Chris Kyle Widow
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | August 2, 2014 | Tony Lee

Posted on 08/02/2014 6:35:51 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin hammered Jesse Ventura for winning a $2 million defamation lawsuit this week against Chris Kyle's widow.

After Kyle's death, Ventura continued with the lawsuit that stemmed from a passage from Kyle's book in which Kyle claimed he knocked out an unnamed Navy SEAL for trashing the troops. During his book tour, Kyle said that was Ventura. But after Kyle was tragically killed in 2013, many felt that Ventura, who has done a lot to damage his own reputation over the years, should have dropped the lawsuit.

"Hey tough guy, Jesse Ventura, your feelings were hurt because you perceived your reputation was besmirched by words in a book?" Palin said on her SarahPalinChannel. "So you turn around and sue, expecting $2 million from a military widow and her fatherless children? Yeah, like that is going to help your reputation, jackass."

Chris Kyle was a true American patriot -- the soldier who stood up for his country and saved so many lives by doing the job his Commander-in-chief gave him, taking out the bad guys. For his extraordinary work, Chris was known as "The American Sniper."(continued)

I don’t care much for Jesse Ventura but he was an actual navy seal

Not quite. He was a member of the Navy Underwater Demolition Team (aka. Frogmen). After he left the Navy that unit was merged into the SEALS. He claims that makes him a SEAL, others claim otherwise. It's not exactly a lie, but it's not exactly the truth either.

Yup. From one article: “After the verdict, Ventura expressed a mixture of satisfaction and remorse in an interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune. ‘I am overjoyed that my reputation was restored.’”

Ventura is correct. His reputation as a POS scumbag has not only been restored, but cemented.

Screw you, Ventura. BTW I know active operators. They uniformly think you are scum, ya useless sack of feces. /obviously directed at the POS, not you, whistleduck

Mr. K. You WOULD be wise to know what the Kyle family did with the money. Go find out for yourself.

you were making a point while missing the two main points….so I’ll help you out. Point 1 is that Ventura is a despicable person for brining the suit. Point 2 Sarah Palin has been slammed unfairly a million times more than Ventura.

Do the math. My statement is valid.

Once again, Sarah Palin speaks out with the thoughts of millions of good Americans.
The case of Mr. Ventura goes to prove that a stupid liar can, sometimes, win in court.
Only a bully would sue the widow.
Sarah Palin has the philosophy and the spirit, and the forum to make our thoughts known and on the public agenda, MSM, like it or not.

A jury let OJ go, too. So much for juries being the judge of truth.

There was eyewitness testimony that Jesse the Puss got hit in the bar that day.

“Apparently eyewitnesses to the incident said hat it never happened.”

There were witnesses that said it did, too.

how do you figure slander?
Kyle wrote that ‘scruff face’ insulted several Seals in a bar by saying more of them should have died in an operation, so he punched him. if that’s the truth, it is not libel. It was only years later that he mentioned in an interview that scruff face was Ventura.
There was no slander or libel involved

Sure. If it’s the truth it is not slander, if it is the truth. But that doesn’t mean that the story wasn’t damaging to Ventura, which was why he could sue.

However, it wasn’t me who made the determination.

Correct:

Ventura served in the United States Navy from December 1, 1969, to September 10, 1975, during the Vietnam War era. He graduated in BUD/S class 58 in December 1970[13] and was part of Underwater Demolition Team 12[5][14]

Ventura has frequently referred to his military career in public statements and debates.[15][16][17] He was criticized by hunters and conservationists for stating in an interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune in April 2001, "Until you have hunted men, you haven't hunted yet."[17][18]

In January 2002, Ventura - although he had never outright claimed combat service in Vietnam, but heavily suggested it - disclosed that he had not seen combat. He was stationed at Subic Bay in the Philippines, and for this he received the Vietnam Service Medal, given to all military personnel who supported the war effort even though stationed outside South Vietnam.[19] Source: Wikipedia

"eyewitnesses in court said it never happened."

Therein lies the fallacy of decisions like this.

The best eyewitnesses can honestly state is that they never saw it happen.

They cannot honestly state that something didn't happen out of their presence or while their attention was diverted.
