President Barack Obama's executive order of July 21 has installed workplace rules forbidding the firing of gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender people by the federal government and federal contractors -- a key provision in the Employment Non-Discrimination Act languishing in Congress.
The U.S. bishops have opposed the bill, known as ENDA, which was passed by the Senate last November but was never scheduled for a vote in the House. The bill has been introduced in almost every Congress since 1994.
"Today's executive order is unprecedented and extreme and should be opposed," said Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore, chairman of the U.S. bishops' Ad Hoc Committee for Religious Liberty, and Bishop Richard J. Malone of Buffalo, New York, chairman of the Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth.
"In the name of forbidding discrimination, this order implements discrimination," they said in a joint statement. "With the stroke of a pen, it lends the economic power of the federal government to a deeply flawed understanding of human sexuality, to which faithful Catholics and many other people of faith will not assent. As a result, the order will exclude federal contractors precisely on the basis of their religious beliefs."
Archbishop Lori and Bishop Malone and two bishops in an earlier posting July 21 on the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' blog, addressed their opposition to the changes put in place by the executive order because it does not include a religious exemption and could keep Catholic agencies from getting federal contracts.
"To dismiss concerns about religious freedom in a misguided attempt to address unjust discrimination in the workplace is not to advance justice and tolerance. Instead, it stands as an affront to basic human rights and the importance of religion in society," the four bishops said.

Just claim you’re bisexual....even if you are married to a member of the opposite sex, how are they going to prove you’re not.
If I don’t know they are faggots then how does this affect me?
On the other hand, If I know they are faggots, Why?
Isn’t that sexual discrimination?
Now Obama will sign an executive order telling government to only hire gays ,then his Kingdom is Complete
Most of the places I worked had a “hire at will-fire at will” policy. They could hire you or let you go for any reason without having to explain themselves.
They also had a policy of “last hired-first fired” for employee reductions.
Community Organizing 101.
This little gem can be brought up later to beat Conservatives over the head when we go to get rid of it. Agitation, Agitation, Agitation. It is Alinsky through and through.
To the thread: If you have not done so yet, Read Dinesh D’souza’s book “America: Imagine a world without her”. That book will arm you with so much information you will have to read it twice. The info contained will completely eviscerate ANY liberal in debate.
crappy?
Literally? Could happen ...
So gays cannot be fired even if they do the worst job ever or don’t show up, but straight people can be fired? Surely that is illegal.
Maybe he'll run a third time so the Black "church" can support him again.
Gives new meaning to the term;
Sucks to be him...
In fact didn't Google of was it face book put out a list of some 50+ sexual genders?
.. To count as gay would you has to both be the same flavor of one the 50+ ?... in fact now that we have out brave new world of 50+ gender. .is ther such a thing as and opposite sex?. Use to be just the gays were confused. .now everyone is
I just realized as I saw your picture, my hubby and his superiors have been following the multitude of steps that civil service requires to fire an employee that “works” for them. She’s gay. I bet all their work has been for nothing.
They’ve had to show her what she’s doing wrong, counsel her on how to do it right, give her so long to improve, when not improved, give her an improvement plan, more counseling, formal write ups, etc. It has dragged on now for about 1 year and of course, at every step she has reported them to EEO because according to her, they were discriminating because she was black. I wonder how long before she becomes aware of this.
I imagine when he gets home and I share this with him, he will not be happy.
Someone I know hired an employee who was quite good at his job, was well liked by the customer, and was a hard worker. He was also very likely a homosexual, but the subject never came up in the workplace. Unfortunately, the work went away and he was let go. Thanks to this EO, I know that person would not be hired again - far too risky to have an employee who can’t be fired and could collect millions in damages in our court system. His job prospects just dropped dramatically.
Looks like Obama can’t be impeached, now that he has that rule.
The end game is Millions dead.
