Ok, call me preaching to the choir...

But why is the nonsense that commissioned law enforcement officers should be granted exemptions (after the fact) when something embarrassing to the company occurs like this???

Not that I believe a lot of people here buy into the Scandinavian Euro-Trash lite mentality they extrude...

I just do not see how this justifies ANY gun free zone...Knowing the statistical odds are greater for tragedy in places like this anyway...

Geesh...

His store, his rules.
Besides, maybe he keeps a dog on the premises.

Just this evening, I reported at the gate of a guarded community to teach a music lesson to one of the residents. I showed my license, and was about to be waved in, when I noticed the guard’s open-carry.

“S & W?” I asked.

The guard immediately lit up like someone who was greeting a long lost relative. A huge smile beamed across his dark face in an expression of sheer joy, as he said “You know about that?”

I laughed and gave him a smile and a thumbs up.

I can’t imagine the crap he must get from the rich, stuck-up, anti-gun liberals whom he is sworn to protect. His joy at my affirmation of his lovely weapon was positively electric.

PS
I am an old white lady. LOL.

Police should refuse to respond to calls for shoplifters, disorderly conduct, or violence because of their policy to be necessarily armed in case there is a dog that needs shooting.

More insane leftist political correctness running amok. When will this madness end?

This could result in hilarity. Likely they detain a shoplifter and call the police, and the police said, “Sorry, we can’t go into your store without our weapons. Could you bring the shoplifter out here? And when they do, the police say, “Sorry, unless you show us the evidence against this alleged shoplifter, we are going to have to let him go. Could you bring out the store’s loss prevention video and something to play it on out here?”

Nothing quite like someone in uniform to be obstinate to jerks.

“We regret that there was a misunderstanding of our weapon policy in our College Park Store,” IKEA said in a statement. “Our weapon policy does not apply to law enforcement officers. We are taking steps to ensure that this is clear for all our co-workers.”

"Our policy also does not apply to armed criminals, who may not voluntarily comply with our no guns policy. Our policy only applies to civilian customers who do not want to be victims of our armed criminals."

Truth in advertising laws should require that they post a big sign that says, "Unarmed victims here."

This cop was off duty and should be accorded absolutely no special privilege whatsoever. Maybe that would change his attitude.

Seems fine to me.

If we unwashed peasants cannot carry in there, why should the minions of the king be allowed to?

Given all the beatings and unwarranted shootings they seem to be doing lately, it seems wise to prevent them from being armed in areas where everyone else is unarmed.

A little time and I could make a teacher or principal out of that Ikea employee.

Too bad the Swedish government isn’t as tough on Muslims as the IKEA Swedes are on cops. If they were, there would be fewer rapes in Sweden.
