House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said Sunday he will vote for Dave Brat, the man who ended his career in Congress, but stopped short of congratulating him or mentioning his name.
Cantor, who lost to Brat despite outspending by a margin of 26 to 1, stressed the importance of keeping the Republican Party unified, a message he stressed to Tea Party conservatives in the House after the 2013 government shutdown.
Cantor said keeping his seat, Virginias 7th congressional district, in Republican hands is a priority and thats why hell vote for Brat, who pummeled him mercilessly on the campaign trail as an ideological sellout.
I want a Republican to hold this seat. Of course. Of course, he said on CNNs State of the Union." This is about making sure that we have a strong Republican majority in the House. I'm hopeful we'll take it in the Senate, as well. I'm very optimistic about that.
Cantor said GOP control of the House and Senate will provide a real check on the Obama administration.
But he did not mention Brat by name or congratulate him for his victory.
This has rankled Brat supporters who have criticized Cantor for not taking this customary step. They see it akin to Novak Djokovic not shaking Rafael Nadals hand after losing the French Open last week.
Cantor declined to speculate about his political future. He ruled out the possibility of running for governor in Virginia.
No, he said when asked about that job. I am right now looking forward to sitting down with my wife, Diana. And weve talked a little bit. But were going to talk some more about the future.
This Cantor was for Amnesty for illegals. Laura defeating this maroon stopped amnesty for now. that Amnesty would have allowed all 40 million illegals to become citizens and bring in 100 million more of their family members from the 3rd world, from Mexico and other countries into the USA
we need to thank Ingraham
Amnesty isn’t stopped. Far from it. Don’t get comfortable. They are pushing it through one way or another.
What happens after that God knows. But they are not throwing in any towels. They are trial balooning the denials amnesty tanked Cantor, they are importing children to use as emotional weapons...
It AIN’T over.
You are full of it.

Just another GOP sycophant running wild on FR and spreading the liberalism to keep us from coalescing.
The more time we have to spend refute them, the less actual work we can get done.
Good money if you can get it. Soros can be generous.

...and anti-Semitic, you forgot anti-Semitic...
That you, Karl?
Well you know if he makes a good enough offer...
We could consider selling out a LESSER EVIL. We might just have to take him up on it NO MATTER WHAT!
And then FR’s lib wing would love us! They’d REALLY LOVE US!!! We’d be just like them ;)
poor mentally-health challenged guy, watching MSNBC.
I stand corrected.
There was a freeper the other day ‘concerned’ about that. He was ‘concerned’ that we lost the JEWISH majority leader.
Not that we lost a POS RINO. No.Not that we lost an amnesty pushing liar. No. Identity politics seems to have been more important to yet another “rock ribbed staunch conservative’ among us.
I’ll happily settle for this, staying out of it is better than what some of us worried about Cantor doing.
” Hes actually helping brat, who has already proven on msnbc that he is not ready for prime time. This is a very dangerous stretch for brat and he should do his homework to avoid an akin moment.”
You miss the BRILLIANCE of Brat’s response - which was to tell them to take a hike, rather than say something unprepared.
If our Tea Party Senate candidates had done that 2 years ago, we’d likely be control of the Senate now.
On the second part, you are DEAD ON - and my point is that Brat has enough sense to know that. He’ll likely be watched closer than any other candidate in this race.

Brat IS smart to know that you ALWAYS avoid handing your opponents and/or their allies ammunition to use against you.
As to your point about two years ago and control of the Senate, check your history and see how many RINO GOP establishment Senate candidates lost along with their superhero Mitt Romney.
Unity! I demand unity!!!
The thing is, it really makes no difference if we control the senate or not when that control is in the hands of the very people shielding and reinforcing the Democrats.
If two people share the same goals and push to make them happen, it really isn’t soothing balm when one of them is an R.
How tolerant. I've been here for years. I just happen to agree to Ann Coulter and other conservatives who think we should get a majority in both houses before we start tearing the GOP apart.
Win the majority, and THEN pull the caucus to the right.
It's just a matter of tactics, not any disagreement over outcome.
It constantly astounds and disappoints me how touchy people are at this site with any slightly contrarian view.
