What is a good PC and Reg Cleaner? They all say they are the best. My PC has gotten as slow as a snail with the sleeping sickness.

That is your advice to the OP?

Mine is to use Glary Utilities, it is mild and safe, and then do a defrag.

Surprised I didn’t see this on the thread. To avoid all these adware malware problems here you go.

Definitely CCleaner and Malware Bytes. Be sure you have up to date anti-virus software. I have used the free version of Avast.

I would also go through and remove any programs you are not using.. CCleaner can help with the uninstall.

When you have everything cleaned up I would do a defragmentation of the hard drive. I like Auslogics Disk Defrag.

I have been using the free Avast and Malware Bytes for a few years now and have no problems.

My computers (2) have a program that came with them called desk cleanup...it clears junk files and excess unused files, just run it when offline. There are under ‘tools’ in your program files different types of programs that come already installed in your computer to take care of that...you just have to manually run them.

I finally got tired of using 3 or 4 utilities and a lot of effort to clean up Windows. I said there ought to be a simpler way to use a computer without dealing with all the maintenance issues. Then I found a single program that does it all. No more scanning, defragging, tuning up. No more adware, malware, or virus problems. No more ongoing costs for OS upgrades or anti-virus subscriptions. That program is called Linux Mint.

I use Linux Mint on my laptop but it won’t run Battlefield and Call of Duty so I can’t use it on my desktop.

I too have multiple computers and so I keep the necessary Windows machines completely off the Internet. For anything Internet-related, I use Linux.

We have a lot of people running Windows in a virtual machine under Linux.
