My cousin patrolled outside the wire at Cam Ranh Bay for a year. When he finally sought help for his depression and nightmares, he was diagnosed with PTSD. He killed himself before he got a dime.
My brother spent six months in Vietnam, and the base he was at was attacked several times. He started showing symptoms of PTSD about 15 years ago, was diagnosed by a VA doctor 10 years ago, and still has not received even sympathy from the VA.
You apparently know little.....
I know enough not to discuss my personal and family service record online.
Look: I honor their service.
Can’t you understand that it is frauds all over the VA and everywhere else that choke up the system for REAL HEROES like your family members?
How does it make you feel when you realize that someone wearing jump wings didn’t earn them? Or you meet a guy at a bar claiming to be a SEAL and when you ask him his BUDS class number he gives you something completely ridiculous?
The frauds STEAL HONOR from the real guys.
And I don’t even want to get in to how many people in my era spent time in Iraq in the KBR chow hall sipping milkshakes and now tell OIF “combat” stories.
Heck one of my own family members claims to have PTSD. The guy is just a lazy, if imaginative, douche.
Give me a break.
