Memorial Day weekend drivers will continue to take a hit as gasoline prices remain high.
May 20 marks the 1,245th straight day that the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline costs more than $3 a gallon, according to AAA data. Thats nearly three-and-a-half years above $3 a gallon.

Sarasota has a large Amish community. (I’m pretty sure they’re Amish, but they’re allowed to drive. They dress the same, have the beards, etc. They own a large number of businesses.) I was with my realtor looking to buy this Amish man’s house. As we’re talking I hear an incredible rumble in the distance of an engine with no exhaust. As the rumble got louder and closer the man’s expression got darker and darker and it was as if he’d pulled his head into his body. Then, the rumble turned into the driveway. It was a VERY Amish looking young man with a purple Camaro sporting a high-stack and supercharger and straight pipes. He came in and right past the man and they ignored each other SO hard that even I felt the rebuke. My realtor hastily said, “Well, we’ve got to go. Thank you!” and he hustled me out and away.
Nearly $4 along highways through remote areas on the Rockies. $4.599 at one station.
A couple of months ago it briefly dropped to $2.90 a gallon here in central Tennessee.
When it is that high, I get just enough to get me to a better priced station. BTW, there is a gas station in Orlando near the airport that routinely sells gas for $6.50 a gallon.
Sounds like Mennonites or Hutterites.
They are Mennonites, not Amish, in Sarasota.
There is an upside to high gas prices.
It limits the driving activities of poor people, reducing congestion.
At least until the regime decides to start issuing “gas stamps”
“Sounds like Mennonites or Hutterites.”
I’ll bet you’re right. I never heard of Hutterites, but I do recall several conversations while in Sarasota about Mennonites. Forgive my ignorance. (I can tell you, to some degree, what the Reformation was about, the cause and purpose of the Spanish Inquisition, and the differences between Sunnis and Shias. Beyond that, I’m pretty much at a loss.)
It is so obvious Obama/Biden are rewarding their buddies in the oil industry.
WI. We’re on the edge of the boutique blend area (useless).
Like the 24/7 drumbeat about fuel prices up until around that time, they kind of went away. Now it is just a passing blurb on the local agitprop that my wife watches in the morning if that much.
A few of the delusional that I still somehow have contact with still blame any and everything but the obvious causes, especially the one about somebody that something about necessarily skyrocketing energy prices.
I’m still waiting for the hypocritical Dummycrats to get all kinds of committees going to find out how this could happen.
$1.80 when Bush was in office
$3.89 when Valerie Jarrett’s in office
What gives? Where’s the committees, the outrage, the obscene profits bellowing, . . . . ?
If w could have done one useful thing regarding energy, it would have been getting rid of that absurd boutique fuel blend.
You did see the source for them stats??
Do you have a better one?
thats bogus on its face gov. data = false
Funny, in the last year I’ve heard as much about High Gas Prices as I have Military Deaths in Afghanistan.
I wonder why that is?
BTW - Gas Prices in S. CA have been around $4.00 a Gallon for Months.
