Bottom line, our dog has been going downhill and we finally decided today, she just isn't doing well.
Today was my mother's birthday, and just after getting her favorite simple KFC meals it became apparent our dog Tara was at the end of the line. I had hoped we could put it off. But unfortunately my mom's birthday was not the happiest.
Tomorrow is Tara's birthday. She just missed being 12, and thus being allowed in the 13 Club of the German Shepherd Club of America.
Too late now to try to post pix. I may try later.
Goodnight, my sweets.
Tara is now playing with several new friends at the Rainbow Bridge.
Of the critters I have been blessed with, I am certain that Scraps, Sparky, Muttley Crue, Castor, Pollux, Phaedra, Buttercup, Roxie, Bishop, Diego, and a myriad of others have all welcomed her, and are doing their best to ease her discomfort of being there without you.
As for Mephistopheles, Kajira, Spikers, DamnCat and Quatorze, well they're cats!
Again, my sympathies for your loss of a dear friend.
We lost our 15 yo dachshund last September, we needed to do what had to be done. I mourn him every day and probably always will. Stay strong and know you were faithful to the end to your beloved friend.
I am so sorry to hear this news. I had a Tara (Terra) once and I know how hard it is to let go.
BTW, Joe 6 Pack pinged me to a thread just this week where somebody mentioned a beautiful black GSD named Hank who is up for adoption in Orange County, if you are interested, or nearby. His owner died. I’m a Golden fan, but Hank’s face just spoke to me.
I’m SO sorry. Please accept my deepst sympathy.
May Tara rest in peace and you remember all the joy and love she gave you.
I’m so very sorry OlLine Rebel. Tara couldn’t be in better hands, but I know you & Y’All’s family are hurting. God Give you comfort somehow.
I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Tara. May the Lord comfort and bless you.
