Russia is largely owned & run by Putitler's cronies - less than 50 people in total - and big government contracts are routinely given to them without tender. If they do something wrong, they mysteriously never get arrested.

Corruption is also rampant. And if you dare to point these things out, you either get beaten up or thrown in jail.
