After 30 years as the operator of a privately-owned public water supply company, I retired in January. I dont have to deal with the a-holes at the epa anymore! HOORAY!
Congrats on escaping the rat race. Reminds me of when my main history professor in college told me about a retiring government official with the Farm Bureau. (My professor was originally a potato farmer.) When the official retired, all the local farmers gave him a farewell party. He then blew their minds by giving them straight talk about the bureau as his job was over and he was retired. He talked at length about how they weren't there to help the farmer, but to keep prices low for the consumer. He described in detail their methods of under reporting crops and such. After that, the local farmers never trusted another word from a government official, and I don't blame them.

Good story! I have horror tales of my dealings with the epa. They didn’t like us as a small, privately-owned company, and they tried non-stop to force us to sell to a big company. But I beat them every time. Always in compliance, etc..
