As if the Obama administration's purchase of more than 2 billion rounds of ammunition, and nearly 3,000 urban tanks, along with their unprecedented (and highly illegal) domestic spying program was not enough to convince you that the federal government is about to suspend the Constitution once and for all, the man who once vowed to run "the most transparent administration in history" has just rather inexplicably, ordered the U.S. Army to seize every Apache attack helicopter currently in use by the National Guard.
In all, the Defense Department will confiscate 192 Apaches from National Guard units around the country and give them to the active duty Army.
In exchange for the heavily armed and highly maneuverable choppers, Guard units will receive 111 UH-60 Blackhawk transport helicopters from the Army, Defense One reports.
Last week, U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee, claiming that the measure will save taxpayers $12 billion, over the next three years.

The National Guard is intended to do a lot of our war fighting, don’t let the Vietnam war when Reserve losses approached 6,000 and Guard losses close to a 100 mislead you into thinking that was normal, in WWII for instance you would be amazed at all the National Guard divisions.
Alter or abolish it. We’ve drifted under globalists for an entire generation now, all to the detriment of America and Americans outside the Beltway.
I call BS on your claim.
The NG should be on the Southern Border with effective RoE's.
I’m a little surprised to hear the National Guard has Apaches too.
Those vehicle aren't being taken away from troops that need them or areas that need them.
They do? We have Airborne units in the Guard, but which one can replace the 82nd Airborne Division with a days, or a years notice?
Add your name to the pledge to impeach. Of course, they’ll come for us first. :)

Then they would still be on active duty, and away from their homes and jobs and families, which is fine with me, but many on this thread don't like that idea.
They fly A-10 Thunderbolts and now KC-135 Stratotankers out Of Selfridge ANG base near Detroit.

In other words, no tanks.
We are pulling armor out of Germany. Tanks aren’t going to civilian police
I obviously know that.
I’ve seen a tank or two in the Pennsy National Guard convoys when going to training. Old, old memories so I thought I would search first...posted a month ago...

other articles in the list too.
And why is saving 12 billion dollars a bad thing? ...IF it was true, good. But this figure comes from the Obama regime so we know it is a lie, ipso facto.
The same reason the National Guard needs guns. It is to protect us from all enemies - Foreign, Domestic, and Kenyan.
Those are transfers to military units, not small towns.
There is nothing new about National Guard armor units having armor.
Obozo wants to control all the effective weapons so that Putin and the Chicoms will have almost no trouble when they invade the US. Another Red Dawn is in the offing, methinks. Wolverines!! mates. Keep your powder dry and stock up on the essentials.
An MRAP is considered a tank by some people. Street talk. The article did state "urban tank". Now did you hear urban associated with tank until this started? Lot's of luck saving that 12 billion too.
