A school in Lincoln, Nebraska is wiping some major egg off its face after a horrible bullying advice flyer was sent home with kids.
Zeman Elementary School fifth-graders were recently sent home with a flyer to help teach them how to act if they're being bullied. It's worse than you can possibly ever imagine. Here's just a few of the highlights:
Rule #7: Do not tell on bullies. The number one reason bullies hate their victims, is because the victims tell on them. Telling makes the bully want to retaliate. Tell an adult only when a real injury or crime (theft of something valuable) has occurred. Would we keep our friends if we tattled on them?
Rule #8: Don't be a sore loser.
Rule #9: Learn to laugh at yourself and not get "hooked" by put-downs. Make a joke out of it or agree with the put-down. For example: "If you think I'm ugly, you should see my sister!"

The worst part of being bullied is when your parents tell you that if you get into a fight at school you will get whipped at home.
Then you are between the rock and the hard place.
Since when did cornhusker become the act of bending at the waist and grabbing your ankles?
A kid might think he is getting teased for wearing glasses, but there are plenty of other kids wearing glasses who are not getting teased. He gets teased because he makes it fun for the bully.
Punching the bully in the nose can work. The problem is that, sooner or later, you run into a bully who is bigger than you. Or has buddies who are bigger than you.
My friend's son learned how not to reward bullies and went on to become a leader in sports and other activities at his school.
Bullies are nobody's friend.
Metmom’s Rules for Dealing with Bullies.
1) Give it right back.
2) See number one.
All the comments on that video clip are in support of it.
Here’s another one....

So what did he tell you to do then?
Run or give them a good swift kick to the face when they weren’t looking?
Shortly later, my parents moved to a different state, and my brother went to a new school. The first week of school, the "toughest kid" in his class started picking on him. My brother punched him in the face, and the "toughest kid" ran home crying. Later my brother became good friends with the same kid. Strange result, but nobody picked on my brother again.
“My friend’s son learned how not to reward bullies and went on to become a leader in sports and other activities at his school.”
What did he do when all the bully wanted was to kick his ass regardless?
I wonder if there is another rule somewhere that states if your parents are certified liberal environmentalists, you can ignore all the above rules.
Obvuously written by demon-infested dammocrap bullies.
The pamphlet addresses that possibility as well. People are responding to one page taken out of an entire program. But I don't think any further elaboration here is going to change anyone's mind.
