I recognize this pamphlet. I have friends whose son was being bullied unmercifully and, after trying everything, they finally engaged a therapist who uses these rules. The rules are designed to help kids getting bullied to avoid rewarding the bully by getting upset, responding physically, tattling, etc.

A kid might think he is getting teased for wearing glasses, but there are plenty of other kids wearing glasses who are not getting teased. He gets teased because he makes it fun for the bully.

Punching the bully in the nose can work. The problem is that, sooner or later, you run into a bully who is bigger than you. Or has buddies who are bigger than you.

My friend's son learned how not to reward bullies and went on to become a leader in sports and other activities at his school.

What did he do when all the bully wanted was to kick his ass regardless?
