The main problem is prescription medications wherein virtually all the ingredients are from potential hotspots in the world, with whom trade is likely to be disrupted.

Not so sure about a 2,000 cal./day goal. Hunting, gathering, woodchopping, travel, staying warm, stress, etc can burn a ton of calories. Better to shoot for 4,000 a day and have extra than not enough. Fat is important, too, so toss a couple of cans of Crisco in the deepfreeze or fruit cellar.

For those with eyes to see, the signs are everywhere. The vast majority of the people who will eventually prep have already started.
If you haven’t, then today would be a good day to start. But if you are reading this then I’m pretty sure you have already begun. This thread is preaching to the choir.
For those few people on this thread who are still on the fence about prepping:
If you wait until it is obvious that the “time to prep has come”, you will find that millions of other people have come to the same conclusion at the same time.
At that point it will be too late.

"Grow A Garden"...no matter how small your yard space herbs can be grown...garlic, bay leaves, thyme, rosemary, peppers, etc......plant and come back later....great for your kitchen and for barter....its only when you don't have spices that you realize how much you miss them...
