Hebrews 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
>> Go ahead break the Ten Commandments as is the claim they are no longer in effect.<<
The Holy Spirit was sent to indwell us just as it was the apostles.
Acts 15:8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. 9 He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts.
Now with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit what on earth would cause you to think that a born again Christian would willingly break the ten commandments without incredible guilt?
Besides, if you dont understand the spiritual nature of our new existence it would be wise to study up on it.
Hebrews 10:8 Above when He said, “Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin Thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein;” which are offered by the LAW;
The ‘first’ taken away was the law or more correctly said blood ordinances wherein a blood sacrifice was offered for remission of sin.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was God. (Still is, and that would mean the Holy Spirit is NOT going to ignore the WORD. Indwelling or out-dwelling.)
So which is it the Ten Commandments are covered over by ‘grace’ or there is still a penalty to pay when one of them is broken?
Some people just WANT to be under LAW!
....”the spiritual nature of our ‘new’ existence”....
Probably why they’re having such difficulty understanding “The Just shall live by faith”.
Seems to me there’s a lack of understanding of Jesus operating ‘within’ us..... isn’t resonating with them.
