Bur really you need to go to the local Chabad library and they will gladly help you if your reference skills are not up to it.
sources (with quotation marks) is right.
“Local” Chabad library? Every town has one.....
What a joke.
Most towns have one.
Every county has one.
If you read Hebrew, the Babylonian Talmud is online.
You’re in the same shape as the Greek translators were, depending on unbelieving Jewish scholars for your translation.
.
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ (Christos) Jesus (Iésous):
And then says this of THAT name.
Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus (Iésous) every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus (Iésous) Christ (Christos) is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
In the GREEK the Holy Spirit through Paul says that the name Iésous Jesus is the NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES.
Again to the Corinthians written in Greek.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus (Iésous) Christ (Christos), that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Iēsoús Jesus, the transliteration of the Hebrew term, 3091 /Lṓt ("Yehoshua"/Jehoshua, contracted to "Joshua") which means "Yahweh saves" (or "Yahweh is salvation"). [http://biblehub.com/greek/2424.htm]
Christians should be aware that the deceitful use of Yeshu by unbelieving Jews instead of Jesus or YESHUA,
Looks like Jesus is just fine with them. I have never seen anyone here us the name Yeshu nor have I ever heard it used.
Jesus is the name above all names!
Details, details........
I agree that we need to look at that verse that was written in Greek to see which name they were referring to and use that name! Lets see what name they said was the name whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus (Iésous)Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The name we are told whereby we must be saved is Jesus. And no, you have not been telling us to use the "only name whereby we must be saved". You have been using a different name.
I pity those who dont use the name we have been told is the only name whereby we must be saved.
Interesting, for all the broo ha ha about Iesous for Jesus, people tend to forget that Ivan and Ian are foreign names for John, just like Estaban is a foreign name for Stephen, Mikhail for Michael.
There is an English equivalent for many foreign names and here in the US, we use the English one.
And besides, *Yeshua* is the Anglicized form of the Hebrew name which is WRITTEN IN HEBREW CHARACTERS. And the pronunciation is not going to be correct either because the English language does not have the equivalent of Hebrew sounds represented by English letters. So even *Yeshua* is not being pronounced correctly by an English speaking person.
Notice the symbol for "El." Ever wonder why Aaron et. al. came up with the golden 'calf' actually 'bull?'
That’s interesting.
Thanks for sharing that.
God looks on the heart, the inner man.
So what do Deaf people do, who can’t pronounce the names of God correctly? They have signs for Him. Is that not legitimate either?
A very good point and summary. I agree.
Where is the REFORMED Egyptian??
How interesting. I have often wondered why the bull but that makes sense.
Logically batting 1.000 today. Indeed. I am reminded of the movie Amistad where the two African men are paging through an illustrated Bible. They could not read the Bible but by the pictures alone were able to decipher the Gospel message. God used those "pictographs" I posted earlier for a nomadic Hebrew people who knew the 'elements' around them like animals, water, tents, staffs etc. The point got across to them with a basic nomadic language. They also knew what they were hearing and 'reading' was true because the God of Israel demonstrated such in power.
Perhaps at the bottom of the Red Sea:)
Funny how much of our entanglement in these LDs we are dealing with the Egyptians
>> “Jesus (Iésous)” <<
.
That is exactly what is taken from the Rabbinical curse.
The KJV translators were sharp enough to correct it for Joshua of the OT, so why did they not get it right for our savior?
It couldn’t be because they were “illuminated Luciferians, could it!
This is what David Bay has been saying for decades.
