he argues that the gay marriage folks have a point when they showcase the sorry state of divorce.

First, excellent Sarah Palin quote.

Next, You know that "divorce" is a homosexual marriage argument, and I know, so it's highly likely the author knows it. It's not a new idea. His comment about Paris Hilton and Elton John demonstrates it. "The institution of marriage is crumbling beneath us; it’s under attack, it’s mortally wounded, it’s sprawled out on the pavement with bullet wounds in its back, coughing up blood and gasping for breath. And guess who did this? It wasn’t Perez Hilton or Elton John, I can tell you that."

I think the author brought up homosexuals simply to dismiss their relevance to the issue. However, it could be argued. On the other hand, beginning to argue about homosexuals is a distraction from the real problem.

They have a point. They DO have a point... and that is the problem. Admitting the gay marriage folks have a point does not mean I am in any way supporting unnatural so-called marriages. Not at all. Unfortunately the secular definition of marriage has mutated to some sort of 'shacked up but we wear rings' kinda thing that hardly means anything. Drawing the line at homosexual unions is too little to late. We need to work on fixing ALL of marriage. You can't draw your line in the sand down where the waves are splashing. You have to draw it up above the high tide mark. This author has a very good point and nothing about his point defends the concept of gay marriage. He is just way WE (straight couples) have given them their talking points because WE have not taken marriage seriously.

You know that "divorce" is a homosexual marriage argument...

But it's a derivative one, not a First Principle, i.e. "Because your family house has a leaky roof and mold damage in 1/3rd of the rooms, we order you to tear the entire house down. A new house will be erected from the proceeds of your insurance and taxpayer funds, large enough for a gay family to live in also; and you may not build another house like the one you had before, nor live in it with only your biological family as before. Your laws were bigoted; this is the fundamentally changed law now."
