This is inspired by a flurry of Facebook posts and comments:
Lot's of potshots are being fired over the Super Bowl ad presented by Coca Cola on Sunday night. Those who were offended at hearing a patriotic song about America sung in foreign languages, are being labeled racist. And those who embrace multi-culturalism are being call unpatriotic. While it is probably somewhere in the middle of both, I am one who felt slighted by the ad.
Facebook is ablaze with the debate and I will add that while I agree with this comment somewhat:
"I loved the ad.... Can anyone imagine how we look to some in other Countries? We ARE the shinning "city on the hill" and if somone who wants to be a part of that city and wants to sing America the Beautiful in their native language then so be it. Grow up !"
...I still feel that multi-culturalism does damage to the nation because now anyone be whatever they want to be in America, except just American which is now something less than ______ American. Once upon a time people, my ancestors, came to America because of the new life it afforded them. Being Italians, they came to this country legally, through Ellis Island, and assimilated into American life. read more...

Amen, the old fart is banned. LMAO.
And good riddance too.
No, he put that comment on his own profile.
thanks thackney,
was not aware of Jim saying that or that it was even a requirement.
I appreciate the insight and will do things differently in the future.

“I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke.”
That ad came out when food stamp participation reached 10 million, five years after Coke became food stamp eligible.
Coke wanted everyone to feel good about buying cokes for welfare children.
The new ad is, of course, meant to cement that support. Obviously only a mean racist would oppose buying Cokes for those people in the ad!
Billion dollar ad campaigns have a purpose.
love it! :)
As for Coca-Cola, this may be the end as millions upon millions of Americans will boycott the company.”
...that will be in my families bed time prayers tonight although I have my doubts that a boycott will happen. We never have and never will drink Coke. My daughters boyfriend loves the sh** but I will no longer supply it. He’ll drink water when he’s at my house.
“Humblegunner is not a troll. And hes no banned or suspended. Anyone can put that comment on their homepage.”
I guess I was dooped!
Go to wikipedia and type in “list of CocaCola brands”. Would a US boycott of their product hurt them? Yes, to a very small degree. Coca Cola is a World business. US market share is important to them, but it certainly won’t kill the company if it were to fall. If you feel morally and politically that purchasing their product is unacceptable then don’t buy it. Do what you feel is right for you. But Coca cola isn’t going anywhere.

Lone Survivor...good call.
Wish I could find it more readily around here.
I'd prefer not. Sounds unpleasant. Share your own personal experiences though..
Save us from your moronic two yearl old temper tantrum.
Please point out any "tantrums" so that I may learn to avoid such behavior.
